5th Annual CSEE meeting
Québec May 9 – 12 2010
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to attend the CSEE 5th annual meeting, which will
be held from May 9th-12th 2010 in Québec.
No need to elaborate, but suffice it to say that 400 year-old Québec is of exceptional
historical and cultural interest, with its architecture, pedestrian streets, and fortifications
unique in North America.
The meeting will be officially hosted by Université Laval and will take place on its main
campus, located approximately 10km from the « Vieux Québec », which is very easily
accessible by public transportation.
Accommodation options include on-campus dormitory rooms, hotels located at a walkable distance,
and Old-city hotels, accessible by bus. Free parking will also be available for attendees. Similarly, there are numerous restaurants within walking
distance around the campus and dozens of restaurants for all possible budgets downtown. Consult the Quebec_City section for more information about where to eat and what to see in Québec. Wireless internet access will be available on campus. Please consult the FAQ section for more details.
In line with previous CSEE meetings, we offer a three full-day meeting
from Monday May 10th through Wednesday May 12th, with an opening cocktail on Sunday evening of the 9th.
Other social activities will include a banquet onboard a cruise
boat on the majestic St. Lawrence River (included in registration fees) and an optional field trip to Cap-Tourmente (major snow
goose migration halt) following the meeting on the 13th.
As with previous meetings, the Québec meeting will feature a mixture of targeted workshops,
contributed talks, a poster session, three plenary talks, and three symposia. The whole meeting will take place in the Ferdinand-Vandry building, with the exeption of plenary sessions that will be held in the Adrien-Pouliot building across the street. See the Campus_map section for more details.
